Motionless in White‘s video for “America” premiered yesterday, and I can’t help but see and hear Marilyn Manson in Chris Motionless’ mannerisms, not to mention hearing typical glam metal guitar riffs and David Draiman‘s howl at the beginning of the track.
While I want to hate Motionless in White, I can’t help feeling the intensity in their music. I definitely need to see this band live to make an accurate assessment.
Nonetheless, “America” was directed by M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan of Slipknot, who does a fantastic job. The video is vibrant, beautifully shot with great angles, it’s creepy, and it’s humorous – how perfect is it that Clown set the video in a circus from hell? The video also features a cameo from Ashley Costello of New Year’s Day and shows Chris Motionless as the ringmaster in the band’s twisted freak show.
Alongside the “America” music video premiere, the band has launched a contest for fans to enter to win the ultimate prize bundle that includes a pair of tickets to Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, a Motionless In White prize pack, and a subscription to Revolver Magazine. The page also features a bonus “Shred To Win” contest that asks fans to send in their rendition of the guitar solo from “America,” and one winner will receive a custom Ibanez guitar. Check out the official contest page, www.motionlessinwhite.net, to enter.
