One has to wonder if Mötley Crüe regrets signing that Cessation of Touring Agreement last year. No doubt that when a band of Crüe’s status announces a Final Tour, new and old fans alike turn out in droves for one last look. Although when most bands go on a “final tour” it’s not exactly what it seems, but the signing of this agreement makes it all the more real. And, as it stands, Crüe has just announced that their final show will be held in Los Angeles at the Staples Center on December 31, 2015.
Now that Mötley Crüe has one year of Final Touring under their belt, it’s time to hit it real hard for the final year, which includes global dates. In February, the band takes the show to Japan, and then, in June, to Sweden for the Sweden Rock Festival, Austria for Nova Rock, and the UK for the Download Festival. Ok, Japan in February and then nothing until June? It doesn’t sound like they’re hitting it too hard. However, additional dates should be added. Stay current with Mötley Crüe’s tour schedule on their official site.
In July, the Final North American leg of their tour gets underway in Eugene, Oregon, on the 22nd. The final New York date will be at Brooklyn’s Barclays Arena on August 12th. Also, it’s yet to be announced, but Mötley Crüe will play a final show in Las Vegas.
As per the norm, Mötley Crüe is offering VIP packages for each show through their website. Local pre-sales begin on Thursday, January 22nd, with a public on-sale starting the next day. For the band’s last ever concert in Los Angeles, tickets go on sale Saturday, January 24th, at 10 a.m. local time.
Regarding the Final Tour, Nikki Sixx stated:
In some of the cities, we could only reach a fraction of the fans who wanted to come see us play last year because of ticket demand so we’re coming back to those places to bring them our full production including the Crüecifly drum coaster, as well as all pyro and every other bell and whistle. Even despite the overwhelming fan demand we can only add so many new cities in North America because of our commitment to take the Final Tour global on our final year.
