We’re a month away from the October 14th release of Revocation’s Metal Blade debut, Deathless, and so far the title track has been released, and the track listing and cover art have been revealed. Today, however, we get another track, “Madness Opus,” and it’s insanely awesome. The first half of the track is pretty solid death metal, but then somewhere in the middle it takes a weird turn toward progressive-ish classical-inspired metal, all while maintaining the madness.

Singer/guitarist Dave Davidson commented on the new track:
’Madness Opus’ is based on H.P. Lovecraft‘s short story ‘The Music Of Erich Zann’ and is probably the heaviest song off the new album. We’ve been playing this new tune for a few months now and it’s been crushing live so we’re stoked to finally premiere the studio version of it.
The song kills, right? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
