We caught up briefly with Nate Diaz at the UFC 158 press conference and asked him about Nick’s influence on his career, whether or not he would ever fight his teammate Gilbert Melendez, and what’s next for him in the UFC lightweight division.

According to a recent report by CSN Bay Area, Nate Diaz is currently scheduled to face former STRIKEFORCE Champion Josh Thomson on the UFC on FOX 7 fight card slated for April 20 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose. This is the step Diaz needs to take in order to bounce back from his loss in December against the current UFC Lightweight Champion, Benson Henderson.
