Stockton’s Nate Diaz (17-9), younger brother of Nick Diaz, and an equal fan-favorite in MMA, returns to the Octagon on December 13, 2014.
Diaz will face Brazilian mixed martial artist Rafael Dos Anjos (22-7), winner of seven of his last eight bouts who is in his best form of his career at the moment. Dos Anjos is primarily known for his ground game, but has also proved to have knockout power like Diaz in his recent fights against former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson and Jason High.
Diaz hasn’t had a UFC fight since November 2013, however, his experience inside the cage and numerous Fight of the Night bonuses makes ring rust a nonissue for this fighter. Diaz stopped Gray Maynard in his last fight by TKO (punches) in the very first round.
Dos Anjos vs. Diaz is a five-round lightweight bout, which will serve as the co-main event on UFC on FOX 13, to be held at Phoenix’s U.S. Airways Center, UFC’s first show in Arizona.
