New York-based death metal outfit Internal Bleeding are readying their war machine to decimate the world you live in with the September 30th release of Imperium… and the devastation begins today with the new track “Placate the Ancients.” Head on over to Cvlt Nation to blow out your ears with the exquisite brutality.
As bassist Jay Liff says, this song is full of tasty riff and tempo changes. The song seems to actually be divided into two parts, the first half being a slow, heavy chug, while the second, and better, half ups the tempo and intensifies the brutality. I especially love the snare action toward the end of the track.
Liff’s comments on the jam:
‘Placate The Ancients’ has kind of an old-school Internal Bleeding vibe to it — I think that’s because of how the song flows from one riff to the next. It always reminds me of some of the band’s demos from the 1990s. The riff and tempo changes are pretty dramatic in parts, yet they still have that patented IB groove that flows through it all. I think that’s the key to this song; the flow.
