Today, Portland, Oregon’s Lord Dying premiered the first track from their upcoming album, Poisoned Altars. Check out the brutal track, “A Wound Outside Time,” in the player above.
It’s a damn near perfect song for the genre. It’s dark and ominous, it’s heavy and loud, the vocals are harsh and violent, and the groove, my god the groove is sure to increase your testosterone level if you’re a dude. If you’re a chick, I dare you not to gyrate your hips.
Lord Dying will release Poisoned Alters on January 27, 2015, (1/26 for UK/World and 1/24 for Germany/Benelux/Finland), via Relapse Records.
The album was recorded with Toxic Holocaust’s Joel Grind (Black Tusk) at Audiosiege Studios in Portland. Poisoned Altars is direct result of the relentless work the band put in the past 18 months grinding it out on the road touring non-stop with the likes of Red Fang, Black Tusk, Corrosion of Conformity, Valient Thorr, and more.
Pre-order Poisoned Altars on MP3.
Frontman Erik Olson commented on “A Wound Outside Time”:
We are excited to premier ‘A Wound Outside of Time,’ a song about confronting your demons and addictions and not being afraid to head into the darkness regardless of the outcome. Hopefully we all persevere. Enjoy!
