Both Nick Diaz and Anderson Silva are interested in fighting each other inside the Octagon, and it’s just a matter of time before it happens. Silva’s manager, Ed Soares, was first to reveal that they’re eyeing Diaz specifically, and a number of other high-profile fighters. Apparently, Silva is training hard and could potentially return in December or early 2015.
Diaz said he’s ready to come out of retirement for a big fight, and it’s definitely starting to sound like Silva could be the one. In fact, Diaz has some words of advice for the former UFC middleweight champion, “fire your coach and get somebody to train your punches,” according to a video from Fight Hub.
In addition, Diaz also said that Silva had “no answer” with leg kicks either at UFC 168 against Chris Weidman:
His last fight, he had punches for [Weidman], but he didn’t have no punches. Know what I’m sayin’? That was the key. Putting punches out there but [Silva] had no punches for that guy. So then he started lobbing kicks out there and you saw what happened to his leg. He didn’t have no answer for it.
Is something officially brewing between Diaz and Silva here? Hopefully Silva’s team responds to the comments made in the video in the very near future.
