Next month, The Nightmare is going to be unleashed in theaters and on Video on Demand (VOD). It’s a unique horror documentary from director Rodney Ascher (ROOM 237), which tackle’s a subject that we think probably affects one or two readers on Yell! Magazine.
“Sleep paralysis” isn’t a common condition, but those who are affected by it know it’s a horrifying experience. If you’re unfamiliar, it’s a condition in which the sleeper regains consciousness at night but is unable to move or cry out for help. The Nightmare documents this experience to the screen while maintaining empathy and respect for his subjects.
The Nightmare is slated for release on June 5, 2015. You can get an idea on what to expect from the documentary in the trailer above. It’s marketed as “one of the scariest documentaries ever made.”
