Here we have Episode 5 of the 7-part Noisey Vice documentary, NOLA: Life, Death & Heavy Blues from the Bayou. In this episode, Pepper Keenan talks from his bar about what influenced the NOLA sound, leaving Graveyard Rodeo and New Orleans to join Corrosion of Conformity, and the affect drugs had on the scene. Keenan’s introduction on the subject leads to clips of Mike Williams, Kirk Windstein, and Sammy Duet telling their impressions about drugs entering their immediate scene. It definitely sounds a lot less debaucherous than what went on in the glam metal scene of the ’80s.
Stay tuned to Yell! Magazine as we bring your more of this amazing seven-part mini-doc.
