I don’t know, in my humble opinion, if you’re a band and you put out a limited-edition box set, you don’t wait until it’s sold out and then offer up it’s yummy contents in a digital format. To me, that seems to cheat the hardcore fans who bought up the box set, in addition to seeming like a money grab rather than a way to make fans happy.
At any rate, if you missed out on the limited edition box set (2,500 copies), A Perfect Circle Live: Featuring Stone and Echo, you will be able to purchase the audio and video components digitally on November 26th.
The digital releases are:
-Stone And Echo – A full-length DVD (with accompanying audio CD) featuring the band’s stirring August 2011 performance at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheater
-Stone and Echo (audio) – An audio companion to the DVD release, the collection features 20 songs spanning the band’s career and includes a live version of the new song “By And Down”
-Mer De Noms Live – From the band’s 2010 full-album performances, this recording features all 12 songs on A Perfect Circle’s debut album, Mer De Noms, as well as a cover of David Bowie’s “Ashes to Ashes”
-Thirteenth Step Live – From the band’s 2010 full-album performances, this recording features the 12 tracks on the 2003 release, which includes well-known songs “Weak and Powerless” and “The Noose”
-eMOTIVe Live – From the band’s 2010 full-album performances, this recording features the 12 songs on the politically charged 2004 release as well the outfit’s legendary mash-up of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Diary of a Madman” and The Cure’s “Lovesong” as well as a live version of new song “By And Down”
A Perfect Circle will also release a greatest hits collection titled Three Sixty via Universal Music Enterprises on November 19th. The release will be available in both a standard and deluxe edition with both versions including the exclusive studio recording of new song “By And Down.”
