The word is out, ladies and gents! DreamWorks has a release date set in stone for the upcoming live-action movie adaptation of Mamoru Oshii’s anime of the same name, Ghost in the Shell.
According to various reports online, the Rupert Sanders-directed Ghost in the Shell adaptation, which will star Scarlett Johansson, hits theaters in 3-D on April 14, 2017. A bit of a long stretch from today, right? Don’t worry, because time flies (when you’re having fun), and we’ll be in 2017 in no time. Trust me, I had the same feeling with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and it’s nearly here.
Ghost in the Shell is being produced by Avi Arad and Steven Paul with Mark Sourian serving as executive producer.
