We previously rocked some casting news for the upcoming remake of Poltergeist with main roles filled by Rosemarie DeWitt and Sam Rockwell, who are now confirmed as the parents in the Bowen family. Remember Tobe Hooper’s 1982 classic? Those two roles in the Freeling’s family where played by actress JoBeth Williams and Craig T. Nelson, respectively, and they also returned in the two following sequels. If the remake is a success, I’d expect the same outcome for DeWitt and Rockwell for future Poltergeist projects.
As for the Bowen children, Kyle Catlett secured a role as one of them last week, and we now know who will play the Carol Anne role from the classic. According to Deadline, Kennedi Clements (pictured above) will be the charming little Madison Bowen in the remake. If IMDB also has her name listed in the credits, then I’m pretty sure Clements is also confirmed.
The remake of Poltergeist has been in talks at the studios for some time now, and it’s expected to start shooting before the end of the year with Gil Kenan attached to direct it.
