20th Century Fox has a brand new release date set in stone for the upcoming installment in the Predator series. The studio has officially decided to push back the release of The Predator by several months, allowing it to hit theaters in the summer of 2018 instead of the winter.
Previously, The Predator was scheduled for February 9th, 2018, but it will now terrorize sci-fi audiences on August 3rd, 2018, according to Box Office Mojo. The film is currently being filmed in Vancouver under the direction of Shane Black from a screenplay he co-wrote with Fred Dekker (director of Night of the Creeps and The Monster Squad). Apparently, The Predator will feature practical effects, so fans don’t have to worry about it going all CGI.
Black confirmed via Twitter,
I am standing on set next to a 7-foot tall gentleman in a Predator suit — so no, it is not all CGI.

At the moment, The Predator is being targeted for an “R” rating. The film will star Alfie Allen, Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Yvonne Strahovski, Sterling K. Brown, and Olivia Munn.
