Randy Blythe – White House Petitioned. Still In Jail

As of Tuesday, July 24th, Randy Blythe is still sitting in jail.

As TheGauntlet.com has reported, the $400,000 bail was posted last week and the Prague municipal court needs to receive some documents before it can begin processing them. All this, of course, depends on if the prosecution has any other objections. If it does, Randy could sit in jail another three days. Apparently, this will be the last time that the prosecution can make an objection, which means the next decision made by the court will be final.

It’s obvious that timely and fair trials aren’t a right in the Czech Republic, which make me wonder what our government is doing about it. Actually, the Obama Administration has just been petitioned to get involved and help free Randy Blythe. The petition currently has 3,410 signatures (at the time of this writing), and 25,000 are required by August 4th. If you’re interested in signing the petition, visit petitions.whitehouse.gov.

Again, we hope the best for Randy.
