Horror fans in the U.S. are aware that the Paranormal Activity franchise is starting to be a lamefest, and it’s proven in the box office numbers for the latest sequel, which is the lowest-grossing of the four installments to date.
However, does this mean the studio should stop making them?
No, because the franchise is still very profitable for them considering the cost to produce each entry, and it definitely has a stronger fan following overseas. Especially by Latinos in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina, who by the way have a spin-off series currently in development titled, The Oxnard Tapes.
So, to no surprise, Paranormal Activity 5 was quickly announced after PR4 hit the big screen, and the release date was also confirmed around Halloween of next year. Now the official date is slated for October 25, 2013.
