With all the hate coming at Ronda Rousey in relation to The Ultimate Fighter Season 18, opposite Miesha Tate, we thought we’d remind everyone why we liked her in the first place… oh, it has nothing to do with the Maxim pictures above, which oddly make Rousey look a little like Jessica Biel.
She was the first American woman to earn an Olympic medal (Bronze) in Judo at the Summer Olympics in Beijing in 2008. She was the Women’s Bantamweight Champion in STRIKEFORCE and is the first and current UFC Champion in the same class. Rousey is also widely regarded as the best pound-for-pound female fighter.
And who really cares if she’s mean as Tate claims, she’s a fighter and she’s good at her job.
Ah, and then there’s Hollywood. Gina Carano proved the crossover appeal with her role in Haywire, going on to appear in Fast & Furious 6 and In the Blood. Now, Ronda Rousey is looking to the future with roles in The Expendables and Fast & Furious 7. By her own admittance, she only has a couple years left as a fighter.
