Sausage Party Co-Director Attached To The Toxic Avenger Remake

The Toxic Avenger

Toxi, the ugliest superhero ever created for film is making a comeback in the very near future, and Sausage Party co-director will help get rid of some old ring rust for him.

That’s right horror hounds! The Toxic Avenger will make another attempt to clean up scumbags in the slumps of Tromaville with the help of Conrad Vernon. According to Deadline, Vernon is attached to direct the remake of Lloyd Kaufman’s Toxic Avenger. The screenplay has already been re-written by Mike Arnold and Chris Poole from a draft penned by D.C. Mitchell and Steve Pink,

Tromaville has a monstrous new hero. The Toxic Avenger is born when meek mop boy Melvin falls into a vat of toxic waste. Now evildoers will have a lot to lose.

Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, who directed all three Toxic Avenger films will still serve as executive producers alongside Storyscape Entertainment’s Bob Cooper and Alex Schwartz, as well as Weed Road’s Greg Lessans.

Apparently, the remake will be “a more grounded and mainstream telling” of the low budget B-movies with campy concepts and gruesome violence.
