Swedish melodic death metallers, Soilwork, are releasing their 10th studio album, The Ride Majestic, on August 28th, via Nuclear Blast Records. Ahead of the band’s new album, which is largely inspired by tragic events that occurred in their personal lives this past year, we have an early taste of the album’s title track, courtesy of Billboard.
Vocalist Björn Strid stated the new song was one of the first they wrote for The Ride Majestic:
The intro sets a certain melancholic mood, and after that it’s all pure melodic mayhem. There’s a very epic and anthemic feel to it, which suits the album title perfectly. To me, it’s a very Soilwork-sounding song. We walk a fine line between melody and aggression, and I think ‘The Ride Majestic’ really nails it. I can see this song becoming a future live staple for sure.
Strid also previously stated that Soilwork are sounding “better than ever.” For the new album, the band teamed up with Testament frontman Chuck Billy’s Breaking Bands LLC management company.
