The title of this news is intriguing, but don’t get too excited just yet because a reboot of the Tales From The Darkside TV series is being considered as a one-time summer run only . So don’t expect CW (television network) to run the series near as long as AMC’s The Walking Dead series. Personally, I don’t think Tales From The Darkside can draw a fan base as big as TWD, but for a summer run this could potentially be a great show.
The original series, created by George A. Romero, was a moderate success, and the first episode aired in 1983. CW is teaming up with producers Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci to recreate the atmosphere with acclaimed horror novelist Joe Hill, who, by the way is, Stephen King’s son. The project is expected to keep the 30-minute format just like the original series that spanned the genres of horror, science fiction, and fantasy.
There’s still no official word yet if the reboot is a go, but we’ll continue to keep an eye open for you and announce it once Tales From The Darkside TV series is confirmed.
