Looking like an original film, but still an amalgamation of Poltergeist, Flatliners (remember that one kids?), Paranormal Activity, and an assortment of other genre flicks, The Apparition’s first trailer has been released. And it looks amazing. An edge-of-your-seat summer popcorn movie.
From relative newcomer writer/director Todd Lincoln and Dark Castle Entertainment and Warner Bros., The Apparition (2012) stars Sebastian Stan, Tom Felton (Harry Potter, Rise of the Planet of the Apes), and Ashley Greene (Twilight, Summer’s Blood). Yeah, I’ve long believed that Ashley Greene would be the one and only enduring star to emerge from the Twilight franchise; she has everything a Hollywood scream queen should have. I swear, she’s the only reason I saw the first three Twilight movies (*bows head in shame*).
While The Apparition is rated PG-13, no doubt for the schools-out crowd, it still looks frightening. Yes, we at Yell! Magazine love our gratuitous blood and gore, but we also know that some of the scariest shit comes from your head.
The Apparition hits theaters on August 24, 2012.
