A week and a half ago, Theologian impressed us with the dissonant sounds of “God Comes as a Wall.” Now the industrial outfit is hitting us with the calming tones of “Surface of the Real,” which sounds like an excellent candidate for the Heroes Reborn soundtrack (if ever there should be one). The track will appear on the A Means By Which To Break The Surface Of The Real album, which can be pre-ordered here.
While the video premiered at Heathen Harvest, you can play it in the player above.
Theologian is headed by Theologian Prime (Lee M. Bartow), but also featured in the project are David Castillo (Primitive Weapons, White Widows Pact) on vocals and synth with additional synth by engineer Kevin D. Reilly, Jr. (Love Is Nothing, Navicon Torture Technologies). The new video was constructed from live performance backdrop projections originally created by Gretchen Heinel, and edited by Theologian Prime for its online delivery.
