We’re living in controversial times. For a lot of us, our parents’ Kennedy assassination is 9/11, our Ferguson, Missouri, is akin to their Kent State, the war in the Middle East is like their Vietnam, and if you stretch your imagination our issues with global warming is similar to their Cold War. Music has always been a great voice of protest, and death-grind practitioners, Theories, are carrying on with that tradition in their forthcoming album, Regression, and on their newly released track “Burnt Concrete.” Check out the brutality of “Burnt Concrete” in the player above.
Theories explains the track further:
Lyrically this song represents the theme of the record very well, the current, very fast decline and beginning to the end of society, civilization and our all-around existence. Our world has been going downhill for a long time now but as of recent, the downward spiral has been regressing at a hyperspeed rate. To sum it up, we’re all fucked and there’s no fixing anything now. Musically, this song represents the feel of the record as well: technical death grind. Instead of going in depth describing what it sounds like and coming up with catchy ‘sub genre’ phrases, just give it a listen and let the music speak for itself.
Regression will be released on March 24th, 2015, via Metal Blade Records. Pre-order bundles are currently available at www.metalblade.com, where you can also overload your ear holes with the sounds of “Cycle Of Decay.”
