Brooklyn-based metal outfit, Tombs, have unleashed a new song to start teasing fans about the upcoming EP, All Empires Fall, that’s due out on April 1st, no joke!

Head on over to stereogum.com to stream the new track, “Deceiver.” According to Stereogum, the new Tombs, with its new lineup, is vastly different to any former incarnation, while still holding true to who they are. I can’t attest to that, but I can say that “Deceiver” is a killer track.

The songs starts off with an ominous synth sound, that could easily fit into a Dario Argento soundtrack. After a few seconds, we get blasted with some percussion, which might take us out of the Argento movie and thrust us into a Wes Craven jam. No complaints so far. Shortly thereafter, the track finds itself, and it just wails. For me, I was thinking a cross between Sonic Youth and a doomier version of Arch Enemy. If that’s not a fucked up hybrid, I don’t know what is.

Go ahead and pre-order All Empires Fall here.
