Toothgrinder Find An Ethereal Tone On “Diamonds For Gold”

I’ve said that Toothgrinder is what metalcore should be, meaning that what these Jersey boys are doing is not a carbon copy of the glut of crap that comes our way. The band proves once again that they know what they’re doing and aren’t satisfied with the status quo on their latest track, “Diamonds for Gold.” Personally, I hear a bit of System of a Down on this one; what do you think?

The track is streaming over at Loudwire.

“Diamonds for Gold” features Periphery vocalist Spencer Sotelo and can be found on Toothgrinder’s upcoming release, Nocturnal Masquerade, which lands on January 29, 2016.

The band commented to Loudwire:

‘Diamonds for Gold’ is one of those songs on the album that makes us proud that we have decided to take a leap into the unknown. The track is a perfect introduction to the more ethereal side of Toothgrinder. It really sets the mood for the more dynamic tonal pieces of the record. A break from the chaos is exactly what Nocturnal Masquerade has called for. We had a lot of fun watching the song come together and hope that translates to the outside listener.
