For weeks, Torche has been premiering song after song from their highly infectious forthcoming album, Restarter. As I’ve alluded to previously, the vocals hint at a vast breadth of influences, from Joe Satriani to Perry Ferrell, and no doubt one could point to an endless list of musical influences for Torche’s down-tuned, fuzzed-out riffs and almost spiritual rhythm and percussion sections, but the fact is that when this is all combined the results are nothing short of amazing. Restarter will be released on CD/LP/Deluxe 2xLP/Cassette/Digital on February 24th, via Relapse Records. Two bonus tracks, “Harmonslaught” and “Rock ‘N’ Roll Mantasy,” will be included on deluxe editions. Digital pre-orders are available now via iTunes, Bandcamp, with physical pre-order packages available via Relapse.
Fans of the band can try their skills at Torche vs. Robots: Annihilation Affair (www.torchevsrobots.com), a single-player game featuring each of the Torche band members as characters trying to save Miami from destruction-bent robots. Fans who play the game are eligible to win a prize pack that includes Restarter on vinyl, a t-shirt, two tickets to see Torche on tour, and stickers. To enter, contestants must upload a video to YouTube that shows them beating the game with the hash tag #torchevsrobots. One prize pack per band member/character will be awarded with winners picked on February 23rd.
