I think we’ve got Rosemary’s Baby colliding with Paranormal Activity in the first trailer for Devil’s Due. After watching the trailer, I’m confident that I’m not alone in my initial reaction, and I’m not surprised that the studio decided to back this one up.
Don’t get me wrong, it looks great! I like shaky cams and the story sounds very familiar, but it seems like Devil’s Due is trying too hard to bank off the success of last year’s The Devil Inside, and compete with the release of Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones in January. I’m not bothered about it that much, but I felt the need to point it out. Either way, I’ll most likely check both out, and so will you.
Devil’s Due hits theaters on January 17, 2014.
After a mysterious, lost night on their honeymoon, a newlywed couple finds themselves dealing with an earlier-than-planned pregnancy. While recording everything for posterity, the husband begins to notice odd behavior in his wife that they initially write off to nerves, but, as the months pass, it becomes evident that the dark changes to her body and mind have a much more sinister origin.
