Freshly minted UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold recently took part in UFC 199 media scrum to talk about his upcoming rematch with former champion Chris Weidman. Rockhold who defeated Weidman at UFC 194 by TKO mentioned that Weidman’s “bitch move”, referring to the back hold, in the first round was a turning point in the fight. Which Rockhold believes was the moment Weidman wasn’t confident in his wrestling.
It’s a bitch move, I mean, the moment he jumped on my back, I knew I had him. The one area where he was supposed to be dominant was his wrestling. For him not to take me down, not to horse me around there, and play his wrestling. For him to jump on my back just felt weak.
In addition, Rockhold also drops his thoughts on Yoel Romero’s USADA ruling and much more. UFC 199: Rockhold vs. Weidman 2 takes place on June 4, 2016 at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
