Newly minted UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate is enjoying all the media glory after defeating Holly Holm at UFC 196. With her first title defence coming up against Amanda Nunes at UFC 200, Tate took the time to talk about her 135-pound opponent on Conan on Monday night.
In addition, Tate also talked about her longtime rival Ronda Rousey and called her an “awful pouty” about her knockout loss to Holm at UFC 193.
Tate said,
I’m not saying she won’t come back, I just don’t know if she’ll come back the same, because she seems awful pouty about the loss and we’ve all had losses. You either get up and get back on the horse and come back stronger for it or you sit out for over a year.
Without trying to overlook Nunes, Tate said her sights are still fully focused on her Brazilian opponent because if she loses then a trilogy fight with Rousey won’t happen.
Right now I’m trying to really stay focused on Amanda and I know everyone is excited for that Rousey fight, I hope that’s something that happens. But I don’t want to overlook Amanda, because if I don’t beat Amanda there’s no next.
