Vin Diesel Teases Riddick With A New Pic

Hell yes! Vin Diesel sitting in a throne for his upcoming film, Riddick, tends to remind us of the famous Schwarzenegger pose in Conan the Barbarian. Am I wrong to say?

I guess Vinnie and director David Twohy are fans of that franchise and intentionally wanted to pay tribute to the films in this brand-new still from Riddick (pictured above). This isn’t the first time the Fast & Furious star shared an update directly on Facebook for his fans, and considering his frequency, I have a strong feeling it won’t be the last either.

Diesel also posted the following caption with the pic,

“It has been 9 years since The Chronicles of Riddick was released… all along I knew I would eventually have to return to that dark place, the mind of an Alpha Furyan…”

So after nine long years, Diesel has finally paired up with David Twohy for the third time to bring us another sci-fi tale in Riddick, in which our protagonist finds himself left for dead on a sun-scorched planet fighting for survival against a race of alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

Riddick is currently slated for theaters and IMAX on September 6, 2013.
