During last week’s investor call with Time Warner, CEO and chief administrative officer John K. Martin confirmed that a new installment in the Batman: Arkham franchise is slated for this year. Apparently it will be a follow up to Batman: Arkham City, and a source claims that Rocksteady Studios will not be developing the game this time around, which sounds a bit odd considering the two entries thus far in the franchise received strong critical reception.
“And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise,” Martin said. “So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013. And with a little luck, the year should be as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012.”
Additionally, it is reported that Warner Bros., a subsidiary of Time Warner, has registered 15 domain names in the last month, including Arkham Universe, Arkham Legend, Arkham Origins, Arkham Rises, and many more others.
We will keep an eye out on the next Batman: Arkham entry, and will be sure to keep you updated here on Yell! Magazine.
