Witching & Bitching is the latest film from Spanish director Álex de la Iglesia. If the name doesn’t ring a bell yet, then no sweat because my feeling is he’s just starting to make a name for himself in North America, even if his best films are always in Spanish. My favorite by far from his collection is The Last Circus, and it’s fair to say that Iglesia has a thing for cosplay now since his new horror comedy features Jesus and a green foot solider in a jewelry heist that will lead them into trouble with witches. Sorry, no crazy clowns in this one, or a least none appear in the official trailer above.
The film itself looks insane, and it should because this is what Iglesia is going for. If you’re looking for something unconventional with lots of weirdness, then this might be it, folks.

About Witching & Bitching:
When a bank heist in the city doesn’t all go according to plan, José and Tony find themselves in possession of some hostages and speeding through the mountains of Spain, hoping to quietly slip over the border. Not wanting to give up his custody days to his ex-wife, José has also brought his son along, for both the robbery and the ride. Little do they know that this is only the beginning of their troubles.
