Our favorite Crocodile Dundee look alike turned serial killer in the Australian outback is back once again for the ultimate kills. This time he’s got more than just a big knife and rifle to work with; in Wolf Creek 2 he’s piloting a huge truck that looks almost unstoppable, like the tanker used by Mad Max in The Road Warrior.
I find it surprising that both Dundee and a Mad Max truck are present in this film, which makes me wonder if it was an intentional act by producer, writer, and director Greg Mclean. That was my initial reaction to the first trailer for Wolf Creek 2, which seems to have shifted from a “based on true events” experience in the first film to an action-packed horror film. Don’t get me wrong, it still looks great and I can’t wait to see what this film brings to the table next year.
Wolf Creek 2 stars John Jarratt, Ryan Corr, Shannon Ashlyn, and Phillipe Klaus. It opens in Australia on February 20, 2014. There’s no official word yet on when it lands in North America, but we’ll keep you updated on Yell! Magazine.
Wolf Creek 2 synopsis:
Lured by the promise of an Australian holiday, backpackers Rutger, Katarina, and Paul visit the notorious Wolf Creek Crater. Their dream Outback adventure soon becomes a horrific reality when they encounter the site’s most infamous local, the last man any traveler to the region ever wants to meet, Mick Taylor (John Jarratt).
As the backpackers flee, Mick pursues them on an epic white-knuckled rampage across hostile wasteland. Only one will remain to be dragged back to his lair to witness the true magnitude of his monstrosity. And if the last man standing is to have any hope of surviving where no one else has survived before, he’ll have to use every ounce of cunning to outwit the man behind the monster and become every bit as ruthless as the monster inside the man.
