If there’s ever going to be a reunion of the ’90s sitcom Friends, then “A Brooklyn Rooftop” from Versus the World should probably be the new theme song. How can it not be with the “rooftop” aspect and the lyric, “Sometimes ‘we are all right’ means we are not as fucked up we used to be.” The track is a pop punk anthem full of nostalgia and hope and self-acceptance, and can be found on the band’s upcoming album, Homesick/Roadsick, which is due out on June 23rd. Stream the track right now over at Alternative Press.

Singer/guitarist Donald Spence comments on the song:
I literally wrote the words to this song on a rooftop in Brooklyn. I was visiting some friends in New York and we were passing around bottles, and catching up on some years we’d missed out on. I think everyone has people in their lives that they love, but time or distance, life in general really, has taken you to different places. It’s just important to remember that the only currency relationships really run on is time spent. So it’s a song about catching up. One of my favorite nights ever.
