The last we heard on the forthcoming Scream TV series was that slasher film prodigy Wes Craven was in negotiation to direct the pilot. However, since Craven confirmed that he was approached by MTV, the project seems to have dropped off the face of this planet, until now.
According to numerous reports online, MTV’s commitment on the horror series is moving along again, and finally found its writers. Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin from ABC’s Revenge have officially been hired to write the pilot, which means pre-production could possibly start early next year. MTV’s plan is to air a full season of Scream next summer, if the pilot is deemed successful of course.
That’s all the bloody news we got about the Scream TV series so far, and you can expect more announcements to come soon.
