I’m a huge fan of Pascal Laugier’s Martyrs, which is a legendary EXTREME horror film that I often use as my Number 1 recommendation to anyone wanting to explore French horror cinema – it’s a small pool to choose from. Trust me! Martyrs is extremely messed up, and it even has a warning label that I never came across before:

“This movie contains scenes of violence and horror that may provoke feelings of disgust.”

The Tall Man (2012) Poster, Pascal LaugierBut now, I have to admit that I’m very disappointed with the amount of news and press attached to Laugier’s upcoming horror/thriller, The Tall Man, which stars Jessica Biel. We have been smothered with low-resolution promo shots (up until now), limited production stills, and a boring demo reel that I never even considered posting.

The Facebook book fan page speaks for itself. It doesn’t show much promise on activity, or interest on The Tall Man. Seventy two likes generated, and that pretty much shows you the marketing success. Sure it might not be the official fan page, but still… I just hope you get the point. You can also check out the IMDB board, and it’s completely dead as well.

The Tall Man looks fantastic based on the latest stills (above), and I’m definitely not trying to say The Tall Man will suck. It’s just that I’m pissed off that nothing great is being released to hype up the movie. Just a few days ago it was announced that The Tall Man will be in theaters (LIMITED) on August 31, 2012, and will be available on DVD September 25, 2012.

Can we at least now get a freakin’ trailer please!!!

The Tall Man 2012 Synopsis

In an isolated, slowly dying mining town, children are vanishing without a trace – abducted, the townsfolk whisper, by a mysterious entity known locally as The Tall Man. Town nurse Julia Denning (Jessica Biel) seems skeptical… until her young son, David, disappears in the middle of night. Frantic to rescue the boy, Julia lives every parent’s darkest nightmare in this twisting, shock-around-each-corner thriller. – Dread Central
