Leander is an up-and-coming alternative metal band directly from Budapest, Hungary. If you’re a headbanging fan of Soilwork and like experimental piano sounds with some foreign language, Leander will surely be a pleasing listen for you.
Metal bands usually cover classics within their own genre by legends like Iron Maiden, Pantera, and Metallica. Very few like to loosen up and show a humorous side of their image the way Children of Bodom did when they covered “Oops I did it Again” by Britney Spears on their most recent studio album Skeletons in the Closet.
So here we have another funny yet awesome cover by Leander with “Only Girl (In The World)” originally by Rihanna. Take note of our close friend Mark Maczak who is pounding away on the drums and who has also performed in the past with Rob Halford (Judas Priest, 2wo, Fight, Halford). If you find his skills impressive, you should check out his other band Keeper of Dreams.
As always, let us know what you think?
