After defending his STRIKEFORCE Welterweight championship and taking out Paul Daley in exciting fashion, Nick Diaz is ready to make the move to professional boxing. According to Diaz, there is no one worthy enough left for him to fight in Strikeforce, and since he is still under the STRIKEFORCE banner, he cannot move over to the UFC in order to face tougher competition. Diaz has already signed a contract to fight former boxing champion Fernando Vargas and is just awaiting a signature from Vargas to make the fight official. In a recent interview, Diaz wasn’t shy about stating that he is “the most overworked, overtrained and underpaid” fighter out there and a move to boxing would net him the money he feels he deserves.
A fight between Diaz and Vargas is still not 100%, as there are a couple of factors keeping it from a done deal, but it is possibility. Do you think Diaz should make the move to boxing, or should he remain in the sport that made him a star? Let us know what you think in the comments section.
