MANOWAR Teaming Up With Van Damme In “Soldiers”

What the fuck! Eh! That’s exactly what came to mind when I spotted this news over at MetalSucks.net. Apparently just after Manowar’s soundtrack debut on El Gringo, they confirmed a collaboration effort with action icon Jean-Claude Van Damme to help revive his upcoming movie, Soliders (The Eagle Path). A lackluster that has been sitting in the editing room for over two years because of the poor reviews it gained after it was first screened at the Cannes Film Market back in 2010.

Here is what Van Damme had to say about Joey DeMaio, Manowar’s principal song writer and bassist:

“I met with Joey DeMaio and explained my vision for the entire soundtrack. He will be writing original score as well as bringing MANOWAR songs to the movie.”

So there you have it. Manowar will not only be creating the original score for Soldiers, but it will also feature songs by the American power metal band.

“Joey DeMaio has the musical ability to write fighting hymns, soulful ballads and deeply emotional scores,” said film producer Moshe Diamant.

Soldiers is currently scheduled for release in the spring of 2013.
