Fans of the Doom series can rejoice this Halloween because the new BFG Edition is now available for purchase since yesterday. You can pick up a copy of this edition for your favorite gaming platform, except MAC OS, which will include re-mastered versions of both Doom 3 and the Resurrection of Evil add-on packs, as well seven new levels of content entitled “The Lost Mission.”
Some other key features in The BFG Edition are enhanced visuals, 3-D optimized gaming on Doom 3 and later versions, improved rendering and lighting, and a new check point save system allowing for smoother progression through the game. Console junkies like myself will be happy to hear that id Software took us in big consideration, as they have fine-tuned the controls to bring the intensity of the Doom single and multiplayer experience. Now, if we can only have an option to face off against PC owners, that would make my day.
Lastly, Doom 3 BFG Edition also includes both Doom and Doom 2, making it the ultimate version to own for FPS fans that know who pioneered the genre-defining games, that is id Software.
