Arnold Schwarzenegger As Conan… Again?

Arnold Schwarzenegger served as the Governator of California for two full terms, and since the completion of his second term as governor he’s already been back in action on the big screen in The Expendables 2. Now he has a few films in post-production: The Last Stand, The Tomb, Unknown Soldier, and a couple more.

In the past, a few rumors suggested that Arnold would make his first blockbuster return in “Terminator 5,” which was rumored to continue the story of Terminator Salvation. It now appears that Arnold will be returning as Conan before reprising his role as the T-800.

Universal announced The Legend Of Conan will be a reboot in the franchise and that the film would follow the story of the first film, Conan The Barbarian. As this is very early news, we’re still unsure how much of the story will tie to Conan the Barbarian, and it also sounds like it won’t have any connections whatsoever with Conan the Destroyer, or the recent reboot that starred Jason Momoa.

“The original ended with Arnold on the throne as a seasoned warrior, and this is the take of the film we will make… It’s that Nordic Viking mythic guy who has played the role of king, warrior, soldier, and mercenary, and who has bedded more women than anyone, nearing the last cycle of his life. He knows he’ll be going to Valhalla, and wants to go out with a good battle.”

The Legend Of Conan will be produced by Paradox Entertainment, and is expected to be released for summer 2014.
