At 27 years old, John Makdessi’s looks to have a bright future under Firas Zahabi and eventually fight for the title.
“I don’t want to underestimate anybody”, says Makdessi, who knows the lightweight division is saturated with talent. “I really want to show everybody I’m one of the top contenders in the lightweight division”.
Before Makdessi can challenge the cream of the crop in his division, he must get past another Canadian standout, Sam Stout, at UFC 154 who currently holds five Fight of The Night bonuses.
To say Makdessi is an entertaining fighter would be an understatement. After earning arguably the knockout of the year against Kyle Watson back at UFC 129, “The Bull” hopes for more of that in the near future.
“Knockouts like that come one in a million times. My goal is to try to bring the fans an exciting fight, to show them something they have never seen before”.
