Current UFC Heavyweight Champion, Junior dos Santos, has officially signed a sponsorship deal with Nike, the world’s leading supplier of athletic shoes and apparel. The man that everyone fears in the UFC at the moment proudly announced his latest achievement yesterday via his Twitter account, which was reported by Fuel TV and MMA Fighting. Santos is the third UFC fighter to sign with Nike among Anderson “The Spider” Silva, and Jon “Bones” Jones.
I want to share my happiness with you guys because now I'm part of team #NIKE biggest sports brand in the world
It's an honor t me
Thank GOD— Junior Dos Santos (@junior_cigano) November 13, 2012
Not only is this great deal for the Brazilian, who once struggled in his early life in Brazil, can now easily live another day without worry. But this deal is great for the UFC as well, since it will help gain more attention to the promoter, and ideally draw in new fans for upcoming events. Junior dos Santos will once again defend his strap inside the Octagon in a rematch against former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Cain Velasquez, at UFC 155 on December 29, 2013. You can definitely expect another exciting fight by the champ, and a knockout is guaranteed to happen within the first two rounds.
