To my knowledge this is the first trailer for S-VHS, a sequel to last year’s horror anthology bearing the same name minus the “S,” which stands for “super” to those non-retro geeks. Otherwise, if you’re young, dumb, and full of cum, just think of it as “sequel” and hitting the HD button on the video player above will only make matters worse for you. Just trust me here, watching this series as it should be watched is the only way to make up for all those years you missed dealing with VHS tapes.
The world premiere for V/H/S was a hit last year at the Sundance Film Festival, and I’m expecting S-VHS will get the same treatment by fans this Saturday night at the Park City’s Library Center Theater at 11:45. Since the new roster of directors is killer, and based on the films they have previously directed, the thrill ride will be as shocking and gory as the first installment, if not better.
Brad Miska, co-founder and editor in chief of Bloody Disgusting produced the film along with a few others. S-VHS features found-footage segments directed by Jason Eisener (Hobo with a Shotgun), Simon Barrett (You’re Next), Adam Wingard, Edúardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project), Gregg Hale, Timo Tjahjanto, and Gareth Evans (The Raid).
Want to know more about S-VHS? Then read the short synopsis below.
“Searching for a missing student, two private investigators break into his abandoned house and find another collection of mysterious VHS tapes. In viewing the horrific contents of each cassette, they realize there may be terrifying motives behind the student’s disappearance. ”
I’ve been recommending that people see V/H/S since seeing it a few months ago, as it is easily one of the most entertaining horror hits I have seen in the last year. So, I urge any horror fans living in Utah to not miss the screening of S-VHS this weekend.
