Zombieland TV Series On Amazon

If we revisit 2011, there was talk about a possible TV adaptation for Zombieland, scripted by Zombieland-the-movie writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. The program, which was considered by Fox and Sony Pictures, was planned to be aired in the fall of 2012 on CBS. Needless to say, this didn’t happen, and neither did the planned sequel to Zombieland.

If you were a fan of the Zom Com, you’ll be happy to learn that new details about the TV series have emerged. It was recently revealed that the casting call went out for the main characters, including the addition of two new ones, and minor script changes have been made to adapt to the show. Even though nothing has been officially announced by any of the companies involved, there is another rumor circulating that Amazon is now developing the Zombieland series as 30-minute episodes to have it appear on its instant video service (Amazon Instant).

Just so you know, Zombieland was originally created for TV before the film, so it sounds like the writers have lots of material to work with to make this TV series happen. We only hope that it gets moving soon, ’cause there’s nothing we dislike more than offing TV execs.

For the moment, these are the only unofficial details we have and we will be sure to keep you updated with other announcements as they become available.
