J.J. Abrams To Direct Star Wars, Episode VII

It seems that Disney’s search for a director is over, as is the previous denial of interest. It is currently being reported that J.J. Abrams, yes, the same man who brought us the Star Trek reboot, has accepted to sit in the director’s chair. Deadline has stated that, “It’s done deal with J.J.”

So, that makes Abrams the most powerful man in sci-fi, right? Or does it make him the biggest director with a conflict of interest?

We all know that Abrams has the skill and talent to do this, but should he? Fans of these two franchises have been at odds with one another for eons (OK, just decades). What does it mean to have them come together under one man’s vision? Is something wrong with the time-space continuum? Where’s my Flux Capacitor? Jump to light speed or warp drive? Make it so, Chewie?

We’ll keep you posted as more details emerge. But for now, let us know your opinion below.
