Hannibal TV Series Kick Starts In April – NBC Unveils Official Date And Time Slot

Hannibal - Mads Mikkelsen

Hannibal – Mads Mikkelsen

Most of you probably recognize Mads Mikkelsen because he played the villain in Casino Royale, and some of you might even remember him for his role in Nicolas Winding Refn’s Valhalla Rising, which kind of slipped under the radar. However, NBC’s upcoming TV series, Hannibal, will definitely shed more light on Mikkelsen because he will play the infamous cannibalistic serial killer in the series known as Dr. Hannibal Lecter. The series is expected to follow the footsteps of Thomas Harris’ novel of the same name, and “will focus on the budding relationship between FBI criminal profiler Will Graham and Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a forensic psychiatrist destined to become Graham’s most cunning enemy”.

So far Hannibal looks very promising based on some production stills we reported earlier, and the series was rumored for release this summer. Thankfully, NBC has finally put a stop to that rumor, and unveiled in a recent announcement that the first episode titled “Apéritif” will air on their network on April 4th at 10:00 pm.

Bryan Fuller is developing the show for NBC, and the first season will be 13 episodes while forgoing a pilot just like Bates Motel. Hannibal also stars Hugh Dancy as Agent Will Graham, and Laurence Fishburne as Agent Jack Crawford.
