Production is well underway for Sin City: A Dame To Kill For at Rodriguez’ Troublemaker Studios in Austin, and yesterday the director went to Twitter to shed light on the Dwight character, which is now being played by Josh Brolin. Since parts of the film is a prequel, Dwight is seen with his first face before he went under the knife to dramatically have a different appearance.
Rodriguez posted two pics, the first one with Brolin in a green box, and the second one (pictured above) that has been processed to look like an illustration straight out of a Sin City comic book by Frank Miller. Rodriguez also said that he uses this technique to set a tone for the actors. In this case, a crabby yet scary tone for Dwight.

About Dwight
“Dwight is one of the favorite characters from Miller’s books and the 2005 film. In Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Dwight is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord, and then watches his life go straight to hell. Chronologically, this story takes place prior to “The Big Fat Kill” (featured in the film Frank Miller’s Sin City) and explains how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face.”
Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is slated to open in U.S. theaters on October 4, 2013.
