UFC 158: Johny Hendricks “GSP Can’t Hide Forever” [VIDEO]

The UFC 158 Open Workouts invaded Complexe Desjardins in Montreal on Wednesday, and UFC welterweight contender Johny “Bigg Rigg” Hendricks was all smiles and fun as always. Hendricks steps in for an injured Rory MacDonald in the co-main event against former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit.

“I’m fighting another tough opponent. It’s not the one I wanted, of course I wanted GSP but that’s my next fight.”

Hendricks was widely considered as the true Number 1 contender to Georges St. Pierre’s welterweight title, after finishing Martin Kampmann in less than a minute back at UFC 154. Hendricks was also critical of Champion Georges St. Pierre and believes their paths will cross soon enough.

“If I beat Carlos Condit, nobody’s in my way. GSP can’t hide forever.”

But Hendricks doesn’t seem to have anything personal against St. Pierre. The 29-year-old American simply wants what he feels will be his – the welterweight championship.

“If Georges moves up, I don’t care. I want the belt. He’s got the belt, so I want him. If he moves up, guess what? I don’t care… I don’t care about him or anybody else.”
