Steven C. Miller, the incredible up-and-coming director who brought us the Christmas slasher, Silent Night, last year, just announced the release of the French trailer for his creature feature, Under the Bed. Miller also expressed a desire to see an English trailer pretty soon, but reconciled that we at least get a “taste of what’s to come this summer.” That taste tells me the film will be exciting, nostalgic, and full of fun scares.
Under the Bed will hopefully mark a return to a horror theme that’s been grossly neglected since the ’80s, which is kids against evil. That’s right, Under the Bed is about two brothers teaming up to battle a creature under the bed, and it’s being described as a “suburban nightmare” tale. The film is also carrying the torch of creature films, which has been creeping back into our existence with the likes of Creature (2011).
Under the Bed, directed by Steven C. Miller, was penned by Eric Stolze and stars Jonny Weston (John Dies at the End), Gattlin Griffith (Changeling), Peter Holden (The Dark Knight Rises, Pandemic).
While there’s no official word on an actual release date, Under the Bed has been screened at Fantasia International Film Festival, Film4 FrightFest, and ScreamFest Horror Film Festival.
